Concordia University has negotiated license agreements of use for electronic resources,
on behalf of its staff, faculty, and current students:

  • Resources in this database are generally listed by package name, not by journal title.
  • These license agreements are formal contracts.
  • Your access to a licensed resource can be blocked if inappropriate use is discovered.
  • Inappropriate use can result in suspension of access for the entire institution.
  •  

 

General permissions and restrictions are given below. Specific permissions for a package should be searched in the
Usage Rights Database.

Use by "walk-in" users Remote use for those who are not students, faculty or staff of Concordia University
Printing or downloading a copy of an article for yourself Excessive printing or downloading (e.g. whole journal issues, entire books)
Using licensed material for research, instruction, and educational purposes Commercial use, selling or distributing licensed material
Sharing an article with a fellow member of the Concordia University community Sharing material with others not affiliated with Concordia University
Posting persistent links to licensed material  
Posting articles or book chapters on personal websites, in Moodle or in First Class  

Only information that is contained in the license agreement will be found in the Usage Rights Database. These conditions of use generally cover the permitted and restricted uses of the licensed material for e-reserves, course management systems, course packs, linking and making copies.
